Can’t Hide From God

We know the old saying, that you can run, but you cannot hide, it is so very true especially in this day and age.

Jonah did just that, he thought that he could run from his obligations to God, maybe you and I feel the same way today. We are tired, disappointed, and disillusioned with life, and we feel that if we go someplace else it will all come right.

Jonah 1:3-17 & 2 :1-9

The problem is that wherever you go, that situation is going with you because it's not your circumstances or even the other person, it’s actually you. Like Job, you actually have to stop and deal with it before you go anywhere else.

When Job realised that the ship he was travelling in was about to sink and take all the mariners to the bottom of the ocean was actually because of him, he confessed, yes he faced up to it, and told them it was his fault. Then the situation changed instantly.

The ocean calmed, the mariners were saved, and God started to deal directly with his reluctant servant Jonah!

Jesus says to you and me today, stop running and “Come to Me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and my burden is light.” ( Matthew 11: 28, 30).

Do not run from the only person in the world who can actually help you, Jesus is more than willing and able, so have a good talk with Him today just like Jonah did, repent, seek direction, and complete the task and finish the work Jesus gave you to do.

God Bless,
Angus and Jill Buchan.
