DECISIONS
In the book of Judges, chapter 6, the angel appeared in front of Gideon and called him (verse 12) a mighty man of valour. It was so encouraging for Gideon because straight away he replies that he is a very weak man and that he comes from a very small clan and that he has no natural abilities, yet the Lord chose him. Straight after that, he tells Gideon very clearly that he is to pull down the altar that his father had built. The Lord tells him to tear it down and to cut down the wooden image standing beside it, build an altar to the Lord God on top of the rock and kill the bull as a burnt offering. And he did it - he did it at night because he was too afraid to do it during the day. Of course the next day they wanted to know who did it, and of course, it was the people in the village that found out that it was Gideon, the son of the leader Joash, who had committed this (supposed) crime.
In the days in which we are living, you and I are going to have to make some serious decisions. As the second coming of the Lord draws very near, the Bible tells us clearly that the chasm between good and evil; between righteousness and unrighteousness; will become much more apparent - I already see it.
Self-preservation seems to be the most important thing in the world today and yet the Lord says, unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies it abides alone, but if it dies it bears much grain. John 12.24. You and I need to start living for each other and living for our fellow man and not be so concerned about ourselves. The devil is going around the world like a roaring lion, putting fear into people's hearts. Most of that fear is unfounded because nothing has changed in the heavenly realm - Jesus is still the same yesterday, today and forevermore. Hebrews 13:8
May the Lord Jesus bless you as you keep your eyes fixed firmly on Him because He is our healer and our deliverer.
God bless you,
