Though He Slay Me
Those were the words of a most passionate Israeli farmer by the name of Job, from the book of Job 13:15.
Even his dear wife said to Job, when she saw the extent of his suffering and the horrendous loss of his children, farm, life’s work and his own personal health - “Curse God and die.“ Job2:9. But the man of faith Job responded: “Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him.” In my humble opinion, he is the greatest man of faith in the whole Bible. He then went on to say: “For I know that my Redeemer lives, And He shall stand at last on the Earth.” Job 19:25.
My dearest friends, as we live through this extremely trying and testing time, where it appears that the whole World has lost its way, this is the Christian’s finest hour. We really need to come to the fore now. To show this World the true mettle of our faith. I do not have to remind you that at the end of his life Job was rewarded by God more than double everything he lost. Job lived 140 years and saw his children and grandchildren for four generations - Job died, old and full of days, Job 42:16,17. Believer, come on now, stand up and be counted! This is not a time for us to shrink back into our corners, defeated, while the devil roams around gloating and seeking whom he may devour. 1 Peter 5:8. But rather, let us resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by our brotherhood in the world, 1 Peter 5:9.
God Bless you, remember Jesus will not fail us!
Much love,
