A Precious Relationship
Deuteronomy 7: 3, 8
We are never to be unevenly yoked with unbelievers because they will pollute us to their way of thinking and in their compromising outlook on life in general.
John 15:16, “you did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you”.
Father has chosen us, not because we are the best, or the strongest, or anything else for that matter, but simply because He loves us. Guard that precious relationship with everything that is in you .
Do not ‘fraternise’ (the Oxford dictionary defines it as to be on ‘friendly terms’) with the world, it is not worth it especially if it is going to cost you the intimate relationship that you have established with Jesus!
It would be like putting your marriage on the line because you persist in having a loose relationship with someone who is not your spouse, (you will be found out and it could cost you everything).
Jesus is jealous of our relationship and wants you for Himself because He loves you, He died for you, He’s chosen you and me, so let’s not trade our inheritance for a mere plate of lentil soup like Esau did, it is really not worth it.
Spend lots of time with the Lover of your soul,
Jesus bless you,
Angus and Jill Buchan.
