Responsibility

We have to take ownership of our lives. If we look at 1 Corinthians 11: 1 (NKJV), Paul says: “Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ.”  We cannot pass the buck, so to speak. We have got to take full responsibility for our own lives, for our families and our businesses. In other words, we have got to own up. If we have made a mistake we have to say sorry.

People will quickly forgive us, then we need to not repeat it. We must stop saying: "It is not my fault." - We must stop trying to blame other people for our shortfalls.

"Brethren, join in following my example, and note those who so walk, as you have us for a pattern." - Philippians 3:17 (NKJV)

By taking responsibility and authority in your home you’ll find that your children, and those who are in submission to you, will gladly follow your example. The old saying goes like this:

“The world steps aside for the man (or a woman) who knows where he (or she) is going.”
- James Allen

It is better to have tried and failed than to have never tried at all. The Lord will help us if we take our responsibilities as Christians but the Lord cannot help us if we refuse to take ownership of our lives. It is like a ship that is moored in a harbour... it is going nowhere. Once that ship goes out to sea, it doesn’t matter if the wind is contrary and blowing the opposite angle, a good sailor will sail in the right direction by tacking against the wind with his sails - even if it takes a long time.

We need to keep on moving forward for the Lord Jesus Christ, we cannot remain indifferent and wishy-washy. One of the most severe scriptures in the Bible is in Revelation where the Lord says very clearly:

“So then, because you are lukewarm (not taking responsibility), and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.”  - Revelation 3:16 (NKJV)

Let us not be like that - let us be responsible Christians who take full ownership of what God has given to us.

Jesus bless you,
