Preparation
1 Corinthians 9:27(NKJV):
But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.
Preparation is very important in any factor of life. Whether you are a sportsman, whether you are a businessman, whether you are a student at university, preparation is key. Jesus says in Matthew 6:33 (NKJV):
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
I had the privilege of speaking with an old gentleman who is an ex professional army soldier, and he now heads up a Bible College. He said to me that there is something that he always maintains and that is “train hard, fight easy.” Now that can be taken in a military sense, but it is also in the spiritual sense. If we are going to be successful and we are going to finish this race comfortably, we need to train hard. That means we need to spend time reading our Bible every day, spend time in prayer and meditation every day, and spend time with fellow Christians. Read godly books, spiritual books, and keep away from the rubbish that has been put out on social media, which entices you to a sinful life - keeping pure and keeping disciplined. If we do that, we will finish this race more easily. Jesus does not want us to crawl over the finish line when we get to heaven, He wants us to sprint through the finish line.
So, I encourage you today to train hard and to fight easy.
Jesus bless you
