Wisdom

Proverbs 2:6

For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.

We really need to start to seek the wisdom of God as we live in these dangerous and perilous times.

There is lots of counsel going around, a lot of it sounds good, but there is no guarantee that it is the truth.  We really need to take the Word of God literally. 

Now in the Book of Job Chapter 28:28 this is what the Word of God says,

Behold the fear of Lord, that is wisdom and to depart from evil is understanding.

It is not about learning the Word of God parrot fashion, lots of people have got good memories and they can memorise large portions of scripture, but they don’t understand them.  The Lord is saying that when we have reverence for the Lord then we become wise.  Why, you might ask? Because then we only do things according to God’s Word and not according to our own ideas. Then we become holy people, we depart from evil, the temptations of the devil, the shortcuts, bending the rules. Not doing exactly what the Word of God says gets us into terrible trouble. 

Today, let us be wise by simply obeying what the Word of God says and also loving Jesus Christ as our very best friend and confidant.
