Seeking the Kingdom First
In my quiet time today, I read in 1 Timothy 6:10 (NKJV)
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
We note here that the Lord is saying that it’s the love of money, not money, which is a root of all kinds of evil.
We need to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness then all these things will be added to us. Matthew 6:33
There is absolutely nothing wrong with having lots of money, in fact, the two men that took the body of Jesus Christ off the cross were not the disciples, they were a rich man by the name of Joseph of Arimathea and a very influential man by the name of Nicodemus, and we thank God for them. I know many people that are wealthy and I find them to be very kind and very generous and they never speak about money.
But I also know a lot of poor people and the sad thing is that many of them, not all of them, are always talking about money and how they want to make money, isn’t that sad. We need to get our priorities right and the Lord will take care of the rest. Remember Solomon when he prayed to the Lord, he didn’t ask the Lord for money, he asked for wisdom and because he asked correctly God gave him wisdom, fame, and money. So today, let’s get our priorities right and let us focus on the Lord and He will take care of the rest.
Jesus bless you
