Great Courage
If we go to the Old Testament to 2 Chronicles 18:7 (NKJV), it says
“So the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “There is still one man by whom we may inquire of the Lord; but I hate him, because he never prophesies good concerning me, but always evil. He is Micaiah the son of Imla.”
It’s not easy when you go against the current. I remember an old saying, ‘It takes a dead fish to flow with the current, but it takes a live one to swim against it.’ In these days in which we are living, we need to be very courageous. We need to stand up and we need to tell the truth - often that makes you very unpopular.
John 17:17 (NKJV), Jesus said,
“Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.”
The Bible is truth. If we deviate from the Bible to please people then we become those who tickle ears. We’ll have many followers and many who will support us, but the end will be disastrous. If you read on in Chapter 18 of 2 Chronicles, you will see that only one prophet spoke the truth and the other four hundred told the king what he wanted to hear, and as a result there was a tremendous defeat that took place amongst the people of Israel.
Today, be courageous and tell the truth in love and that will save God’s people.
Jesus bless you
