Jesus the Rebuilder
The other day I listened to a beautiful story told by an Irish brother in Christ from Belfast, Northern Ireland. He was speaking at a huge tractor rally, and it was quite something to see. The most amazing latest technology, the newest tractors and they were lifting potatoes, they were mowing hay, they were ploughing and planting crops.
He went on to say that Harry Ferguson was the man who started the Massey Ferguson tractor industry, and he did an incredible job. Then there was Henry Ford, of course, who built the first Model T Ford motorcar and then went on to build the Ford tractor. He went on to speak about John Deere, the man that invented that very special plough, and then went on to develop beautiful tractors and machinery. It was really quite something to see.
Then he brushed up against a gentleman at the show and this man said, “Man can rebuild a tractor, but only Jesus can rebuild a man.”
I thought that was very, very prophetic and very relevant for the times in which we are living. We are seeing so many amazing miracles at the moment in society, we are seeing rockets literally going into space every day and we are seeing science blazing ahead in leaps and bounds, “but no one will ever be able to rebuild a man.”
One of my favourite scriptures in the Bible is 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV) which says,
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
Let us remember to remain humble in the sight of a creative God and to remember to put God first in our lives, for if God is for us there is no man that will stand against us (Romans 8:31).
Jesus bless you
