Don't Speculate

It is Monday, 12th October, 2020 and this is your friend, Angus Buchan with a thought for the day.

If we go to the First book of John - 1 John, Chapter 1 and verse 1, all the ones:

“That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life—“

Oh my friend, this is not a time to speculate.

I looked up the Oxford Dictionary for the meaning of the word, “speculate”.

It means to form a theory or conjecture without firm evidence.

This is not a time the time to guess, this is not a time to play the fool and to argue about the sovereignty of Jesus Christ.

There is no more time to say “I hope so” or “maybe”.

Jesus has been from the beginning of time.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John Chapter 1 and verse 1.

He was publicly seen and known.

John tells us that he was an eye-witness. He actually touched God.

Isn’t that amazing?

Now, maybe today, there are some of us who have lost loved ones and we need to know without a doubt this Jesus.

Is He a reality and not just pie in the sky, as they say?

Well, in our family, we are very sad because a young mother, a young wife went home to be with Jesus.

And I want to encourage them as anyone else who is listening to this message, who has recently lost a loved one.

John Chapter 11 and verse 26, Jesus says: “And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die”.

They say that Billy Graham said, “One day you will read in the newspapers that the evangelist, Billy Graham, has died.” He said, “When you read that do not believe a word of it. I won’t have died. I will have only have changed my address.”

Jesus is not dead and Jesus is very much alive and he is coming back to earth very soon.

You might say, “Well, how can we be ready?”

Well, I leave you with one scripture and it is found in Romans Chapter 10 verse 9, and The Lord says that:

“if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Pray that prayer before you go out today and then look forward - look up, not look down, because your redemption is nigh.

And go and put your arms around those loved ones who are left behind and dry their tears and tell them that that loved one is not dead.

You will see them again, very soon.

God bless you and have a wonderful week.
