Giving

If we go to the Book of Galatians, Chapter 2 and verse 20, one of the most famous verses in the Bible, Paul says:

“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”

You know, our biggest enemy is not the devil. No, no, no!

It is ourselves.

I always remember the saying that the devil’s neck was broken on the Cross of Calvary.

When Jesus Christ said, “It is finished.” He meant it.

He dealt with the devil once and for all.

Death has got no more sting.

Because of Jesus Christ, we will live forever.

So, we need to put self down today and start to live for others and then all of a sudden, we will have a wonderfully exciting life that is worth living.

Do you remember that beautiful poem by Saint Francis of Assisi?

It goes like this:

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,
Where there is hatred, let me bring love;
Where there is offense, let me bring pardon;
Where there is discord, let me bring union;
Where there is error, let me bring truth;
Where there is doubt, let me bring faith;
Where there is despair, let me bring hope;
Where there is darkness, let me bring your light;
Where there is sadness, let me bring joy.

Oh Master,
Let me not seek as much
To be consoled as to console;
To be understood as to understand;
To be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that one receives;
it is in self-forgetting, that one finds;
It is in pardoning that one is pardoned;
It is in dying that one is raised to eternal life.

May God bless you and have a wonderful day as you go out and live for others.
