A Rushing Mighty Wind

Acts, Chapter 2, and reading from verse 1:

“When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”

Oh my dear friend, do you believe in miracles?

Well, if you don’t believe in miracles, you cannot believe the Bible because the Bible is full of miracles from Genesis right through to the Book of Revelation.

I remember, like it was yesterday, being invited to speak at the Feast of Tabernacles, down at Ein Gedi, the Dead Sea in Israel, the lowest point on earth - 400 meters below the sea level.

Folks, it was something I will never forget.

I want to say to you today, you need to believe in miracles.

Why? Because our God is a miracle-working God.

The Christian Embassy in Jerusalem stages a massive celebration down at the Dead Sea, every year, and I was the guest speaker that year.

It was on 30th September 2012.

It was so hot. I think it was about 40 degrees at 7 o’clock at night.

I was called onto the platform to preach the gospel to between four and five thousand delegates, from every country on earth, almost.

We had 18 I think it was, interpreters. There was such an excitement and an expectation that night.

I got on that platform and I read the very scripture I have just read to you.

Then I did something that I don’t think I will ever do again in my life - I walked around the front of the lectern, and I said, “Lord Jesus, please - we are in Your country. We are in Jesus’ country. Please do it again!”

And folks, a rushing, mighty wind came from nowhere. It started to blow so hard that the musicians ran onto the platform to try and rescue their instruments.

The side screens were shattered. They were stripped, ripped apart. Their whole structure started shaking.

The Jewish workers came running up to try and secure the stage and the structure.

They were shouting to me. “Please tell the people to go back.”

The people were running to the front.

They were dressed in their evening dress. They were so excited about the meeting and they were kneeling in the dust.

And then it started to rain. It never rains in that place, hardly ever. It looks like the moon there. It is so dry - and a mighty rushing wind took place and I will never ever forget it as long as I live.

I want to ask you today. Believe in your miracle.

Jesus says, “Ask and you shall receive. Seek and you will find, knock and the door shall be open unto you.”

Have a wonderful miracle-filled day!
