Let Us Be Good Leaders Today

If we go to the Book of James in the New Testament, James, Chapter 3 and verses 1 and 2:

“My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment.
For we all stumble in many things.”

As leaders, we must understand that there are always consequences for our actions.

Leaders must implement the rules in order for peace to be established.

We have got to lead from the front.

I am talking about at home.

You know, it’s one thing to tell your children to be gentle and to respect women but how are you treating your own wife, their mother?

I hope you are treating her the same way.

And mothers to tell your daughters to be good wives but how is it in your own home?

Is it a cozy place? Is the food tasty? Does your husband look forward to coming home at night?

As employers, never ask a man to do a job for you that you can’t do yourself.

It is so sad to see a farmer giving his tractor driver a hard time because he is not plowing straight but the farmer can’t plow himself.

We have got to lead by example.

Paul says in 1 Corinthians Chapter 11 verse 1:

“Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ.”

Remember, if you want to be the greatest in the Kingdom of God, you have to be prepared to be the least.
Matthew Chapter 19 verse 30.

“ But many who are first will be last, and the last will be first.”

A leader according to the Oxford Dictionary is the person who leads, commands or precedes a group, an organization, or a country.

I remember, like yesterday, taking a group of men up into the mighty Drakensburg Mountains.

We were going up this contour path and then we saw a man sitting by himself on a rock, looking very dejected, all by himself.

And we said to him, “What is wrong?”

He said, “My team has left me behind. They said I was too slow.”

We said, “Join us. We will take you to the top.”

He looked very downhearted and we put him in the front and we said, “We will walk according to your pace.”

Do you know, that man-made it straight to the top of the mountain.

Needless to say, when his team saw him, they were very embarrassed.

Let us be good leaders today.
