Unconditionally
If we go to the Book of Deuteronomy, Chapter 10 and verse 12 - and this is what the Word says:
“And now, Israel, (that is you and I) what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and to love Him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul,..”
What can we give to the God who is so powerful that everything that you and I see and touch and smell was created by one word?
In the beginning, was The Word. What can we give to Him?
Well, He says we must fear Him.
We must respect Him and treat Him with utmost reverence and we must walk in His ways but most importantly, we are to love Him and serve Him with all our hearts.
Do you know that He knows each and every one of us by name?
You say that is almost impossible. That is right.
He even knows how many hairs are on our heads.
If we go to John Chapter 1 and verse 47, Jesus saw Nathaniel coming towards Him and He said, “Behold an Israelite indeed in whom is no deceit.”
Nathaniel said to Him, “How do You know me?”
And Jesus answered and said to him, “Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I called you.”
The Lord knows each one of us by name, and He desires so much to have fellowship with us.
You know, I have got eleven grandchildren and when they come to visit Khulu - that is the Zulu name for granddad - when they come to visit Khulu, everything else takes second place.
You might ask why? Aah - because I love them so much and they love me, unconditionally.
When they come to see me, there is no ulterior motive. They just want to come and be with me and that is what Jesus wants from you and me today.
He wants to talk with us, He wants us to tell Him our plans.
He wants us to ask Him advice and He wants us to tell Him how much we love Him.
He loves us very, very much - so much that He gave His only begotten Son to die on the Cross of Calvary so that we might be saved.
