An Incorruptible Inheritance
It is 11th September. It is a beautiful day and The Lord Jesus Christ is coming soon!
This is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for the day.
If we go to the First Epistle of Peter - 1 Peter, Chapter 1, and I am going to read from verse 4:
“to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”
Look at verse 6:
“In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,…”
Oh my dear friend, what a future you and I have prepared for us by Jesus.
We are talking about an incorruptible inheritance!
Now, I don’t know what you are going through this morning but I want to tell you that when you get to Heaven, there will be no more corrupt government, no more corrupt society, no more fear, no more uncertainty.
Maybe now, you have been grieved a little bit.
Maybe you have lost a loved one this morning.
Maybe you are going through a situation at work where you are severely tested.
Maybe you are even going bankrupt. I don’t know - but through it all, our faith has been tested and The Lord says, if we stand, if we just stand, He says He will take care of us.
I remember a gospel singer, many, many years ago by the name of Keith Green.
He died 29 years old in a plane crash but God used him very powerfully. He was a former drug addict. He came through for The Lord.
And he said in one of his talks, I will never forget it! “If God has been preparing our home in Heaven for 2000 years, and He made this earth in one day, man - we are living in a garbage can!”
What he is saying is that The Lord has a beautiful home in Heaven for you and for me.
We just need to keep on looking up.
I remember a nursing sister telling Jill and I, many years ago, that when she goes into a ward where a man is dying who does not know Jesus Christ, it is a horrible experience.
There is grinding of teeth, anger, swearing, and absolute fear.
But when she goes into the room of a man or a woman of God who is dying, there is joy and peace, tranquillity, and a smile on their face as they look up and see the angels coming to take them to Jesus.
Have a wonderful day as you look forward to your inheritance which is being prepared for you.
