Miracle Worker

But Jesus said to them, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.”
— Matthew 4:16

Five thousand men, not counting women and children, and there was no food to eat - I know that site so well, it is called Tabgha. It commemorates the miracle of the two fishes and the five barley loaves of bread. There is a beautiful mosaic picture, which was made hundreds of years ago, on the shores of the most beautiful freshwater lake called Galilee. That’s right - the area where Jesus performed so many miracles.

I looked up 'miracle' in the Oxford Dictionary:

“A miracle is an extraordinary and welcome event that is not explained by natural or scientific laws, attributed to a divine agency”.

I want to say to you folks I saw that miracle happen right here on this farm - Shalom. In 2007 we were having a Mighty Men Conference and we were expecting five thousand men. That’s correct! And do you know what, over seven thousand men arrived! Now in those days, we used to feed them, that’s right - Three meals! We fed them supper, on Friday night, lunch on Saturday and we fed them supper, on Saturday night.

They had to get their own breakfast in the morning. You can imagine - the kitchen went into panic mode: “Please Angus, tell the men to go easy on the food.” I said of course I would.

I was so excited to see so many men arriving... That was right at the beginning of the Mighty Men phenomenon. I said, “Boys, there is a message from the kitchen - eat as much as you can!” Well, I tell you what, on Sunday morning, (God had moved so beautifully that weekend, we were in a prayer-meeting, sitting there together praying) in walked Peter.

He came in wearing a bib, he had been directing the traffic that Sunday morning and he was weeping. I thought maybe there had been a car accident - No!

He said to me, "Angus, how many baskets of left-overs did they collect when Jesus fed the five thousand?"
I said: "Twelve baskets."
He said: "How many meals did we feed these men?"
I said: "Three meals."
He said: "We have just collected thirty-six baskets of left-overs." - Thirty-six divided by three is twelve!

God is a miracle worker and He is the same yesterday, today and forevermore. Have a wonderful day and look for your miracle.

God bless you and goodbye.
