Because He Lives

It is Friday, 12th November 2021, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

Well, the greatest true story ever told, summed up in one small Bible verse... a Bible that has 66 Books in it and we know that scripture so well, don’t we:

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16

What an incredible scripture -Pure, undiluted love And then 1 John 4 and I am going to read from verse 7:

“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.”

I don’t think there has ever been a gift given by anyone, anywhere in the world, like our Heavenly Father, gave to you and me. He gave His only begotten, precious Son, yes to a pack of wolves actually, who were going to kill him and to totally destroy Him. But He gave His Son so that you and I could be saved from eternal damnation. Do you remember that song, that beautiful song that goes like this:

“Because He lives, I can face tomorrow?” Why don’t you sing that song with me today because it is such a beautiful encouraging song, oh yes!

And because He lives, I can face tomorrow.
Because He lives, all fear is gone
Because I know He holds the future
And life is worth the living
Just because He lives.

And then one day, I’ll cross that river
I’ll fight life’s final war with pain
And then, as death gives way to victory
I’ll see the lights of glory and I’ll know He reigns.
