Happy Christmas

It is the 25th of December, that’s right - the year 2021. Happy Christmas! Blessed Christmas to you! This is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

“For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

Isaiah 9:6

That was prophesied hundreds and hundreds of years before Jesus was born in that manger, in Bethlehem.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

John 3:16

I want to say to you today that that is the most incredible gift anyone could give to a person - To give His own child. And that is what our Heavenly Father did, today, 2000 years ago. He told His Son, “Go down to earth and help them”, that is what He is doing for you and me today.

I want to say to you, today you might be lonely, you might be sick, you might be mourning but there was a little baby who has come into the world, to give you hope, to give you strength and to help you. His name is Jesus, the most beautiful name in my vocabulary... There is no other name. When I hear that name I want to weep with joy because He loves me so much, and He loves you so much, that He gave His life for us.

Now folks, I don’t know - this might be the last Christmas on this earth, that we have before the coming of the Lord! You know, I am a farmer and the Lord says, when you see a fig tree producing new leaves, you know that summer is around the summer. When you see these signs that are happening on the earth, know that my return is imminent. Now if we look at Revelation 22:20 - the second last verse in the whole Bible:

“He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.”

We need to be ready for the coming of the King - How can we get ready?
Well, we need to believe that He is the Son of God. It is as simple as that. It is not about working your way to Heaven, it is about acknowledging that the baby in that manger is God made flesh, Immanuel. I want to pray a little prayer with you today if you don’t mind, and I would like you to pray this prayer after me. I am going to pray a very simple scripture, Romans 10:9, and we will pray this together:

If we confess with our mouths, come on, pray it... If we confess with our mouths, Jesus Christ, and we believe in our hearts that He has been raised from the dead, we shall be saved. Isn’t that wonderful?

Now just remember that. That is exactly what it is about - Its about faith. its not about good works. I want to close now because you have got things to do, you have got family to love and presents to open. I want to close with God’s blessing. Numbers 6:24:

“The Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.”

Happy Christmas! Peaceful Christmas! We love you!
God bless you and goodbye.
