Find the Honey

It is Tuesday morning, 28th December and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

“So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.”

Matthew 14:29

Oh folks... That is the only human being, in the history of the world, who has walked on water. I have been to the Lake of Galilee, it is very, very deep. There were no stepping stones underneath his feet, He walked on the water. I got the most beautiful little diary from one of my family members and on the cover, it says: “You can’t find the honey if you are scared of the bees!”

Isn’t that right? As a beekeeper, I can tell you something now - You do get stung but you can’t find the honey if you are scared of the bees!”

“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”

Hebrews 11:6

Peter walked on the water, better to have tried and failed than never to have tried at all. I can hear someone saying, “Ja, but he failed, he started sinking.” He took his eyes off Jesus for a moment. He looked at the waves, fear gripped his heart, and he started to sink but at least he got out of the boat. I want to say to you today that fear is paralyzing many people in the world. If you want to eat the honey you must be prepared to take a few stings! The opposite of faith is fear.

Now remember folks, the boat is sinking, it is full of woodworm. The other eleven disciples, who sat in the boat and hung over the edge, looking at Peter walking on the water did not realize that the boat was sinking. We have got to get out onto the water. It is the safest place to be.

If you want to taste that honey... I want to tell you once you have tasted that honey, a few stings don’t even affect you. I want to leave you with a lovely memory verse for 2022. Now, I am speaking particularly to the older folk who battle to memorize scripture verses. This is a beautiful one for you. It simply says:

“Have faith in God”
Mark 11:22.

Have a wonderful day as you go and find that honey!
Jesus bless you, goodbye.
