All Things New

I greet you in Jesus’ precious name. It is Thursday morning, it is the 15th of December, 2022, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

Revelation 21:5, the Lord says:

“Behold, I make all things new.”

What a beautiful scripture! The other Scripture which is a very popular one is found in 2 Corinthians 5:17:

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

Our Lord Jesus is a builder, He is not a demolisher. There is nothing or no one that our Heavenly Father cannot restore or make new again. I have seen it so many times in nature on this very farm, as a very young farmer, with a young wife and five young children. We had all our money in a crop of seed maize which was very expensive, and a devastating hailstorm decimated that beautiful crop of maize in five minutes, where our only source of income was destroyed in front of my very eyes.

I have walked through those fields because I couldn’t drive in a pick-up, I have walked with my gumboots and my heart was broken. I came home and told my wife and my children, “I think we are over. I think we are going bankrupt,” only to go out three days later and see that the Creator, Himself, had been busy while we were asleep in our beds and that crop of maize has miraculously stood up again, a bit buckled and bent I must admit, but standing none the less, and we have lived to fight another day.

I have seen the same thing happen with men who you and I have thought, “Well, that man there - there is no hope. That man is a blasphemer, a drunkard, a drug addict.” Then he meets the Restorer. He meets the One who makes all things new. He meets Jesus Christ and miraculously and instantaneously, I have seen it not once but thousands of times, a complete turn-around, a man who is loving, who is gentle, who is prone to weeping, one who works hard and gives his family a good home. Don’t give up on your miracle today. It is on its way and He will not let you down.

Jesus bless you and goodbye.
