Christmas Eve 2022

I greet you in Jesus' precious name on Christmas Eve, Saturday morning the 24th of December 2022. This is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for the day. If we go straight to the word of God in Psalms:

“The Lord is my strength and song,
And He has become my salvation.”
Psalm 118:14

What a beautiful scripture! Then we go to Exodus:

“The Lord is my strength and song,
And He has become my salvation;
He is my God, and I will praise Him;…”
Exodus 15:2

And then the last one, Isaiah 12:2:

“Behold, God is my salvation,
I will trust and not be afraid;...”

Jesus came down from Heaven to Earth to save a hopeless wretch just like me. I looked up in the Oxford Dictionary to find out the literal meaning of salvation. It means: "The saving of a person from sin and it’s consequences, believed by Christians to be brought about by faith in Jesus.” - In a nutshell, that is what Christmas is all about. Luke 19:10 says:

"for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

“Save from what?” I can hear somebody saying. Well, saved from fear, stress, depression, hopelessness, addictions, immorality, sickness and disease. You see, for me, Christmas Day was the 18th of February 1979. Why? Because that is the day that I asked the Lord Jesus Christ into my life. You see, I had worked myself to a standstill. I couldn’t sleep, I couldn’t stop working, I lost my joy and my purpose in life... Then I met that little babe who was born in a manger, in a little town in Bethlehem, and everything changed in my life. What about you today on Christmas Eve? Why don’t you pray this beautiful prayer with me and begin a new life? What a time to do it! Let us pray together:

Dear Lord Jesus,
I acknowledge that I am a sinner and I need help.
Please forgive me for the wayward life I have been living, trying to do things on my own.
oday, Christmas Eve, 24th December, 2022, I invite You into my life. To take over every aspect of what I am doing. I thank You Lord, that by faith, I am a new person, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

God bless you and have a wonderful day,
Goodbye.
