Win Win Situation

A very good morning to you! It is Thursday morning, 12th of May, the year 2022. And this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

If we go straight to the Book of Isaiah in the Old Testament:

“Listen to Me, O house of Jacob,
And all the remnant of the house of Israel,
Who have been upheld by Me from birth,
Who have been carried from the womb:
Even to your old age, I am He,
And even to gray hairs I will carry you!
I have made, and I will bear;
Even I will carry, and will deliver you.”

Isaiah 46:3-4

Oh, what a beautiful promise! Then we go straight to Philippians 1:21, Paul says:

“For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”

We are, therefore, in a win-win situation. If we live, we live for Christ and if we die, we go home to be with Christ in Heaven forever... You can’t frighten a Christian with Heaven, so what are you afraid of?

“I have been young, and now am old;
Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken,
Nor his descendants begging bread.”

Psalm 37:25

A beautiful promise from God for all the young moms and dads today. You know, I can hear some people saying, “But I need Him now. Where has He been?” Remember the old story of the footsteps in the sand? The man says, “But every time I was going through a tough time, there were only one set of footprints in the sand, where did You go?” “Oh,” God says, “That was when I was carrying you.” Yes, the Lord has never, ever forsaken us. Those of us with grey hair can testify to that fact. People, remember one thing, Jesus will never, ever forsake you, He loves you so much!

A lot of young people write to me from overseas, they have had to go overseas to find employment and start a new life but their old folks are still here, at home. They write and ask, “Please, could you take care of them, we are worried about them." I want to say to you today, that you have nothing to worry about. Just trust the one who has looked after them from birth, Jesus will still look after them in their old age. What a beautiful promise - So today, remember, if Christ is for you, there is no man that will ever stand against you.
