Through the Storm
A very good morning to you! It is Monday morning, 23rd May, 2022 and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.
If we start with the Book of Psalms:
“Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me”
Psalm 138:7
Oh Lord, we really need our souls to be revived today. And then we go to the Gospel of Matthew, this was the last thing that Jesus said before He went to Heaven:
“I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:20
Oh, so we don’t need to be afraid, no! We don’t need to be afraid of trouble. If I look back on my Christian walk, my fondest memories have been when I have been in my greatest times of turmoil and trouble because those have been the times when I felt Jesus pressing in the closest to me. Therefore, we need not be afraid or fearful of hard times, it is in times like these when we can truly be changed for the better. I don’t remember the good times so much. I really remember those times when I was struggling - Times of drought, floods, times of personal tragedy. Those are the times that He was the closest to me.
You know, I would rather be in a small dinghy with Jesus at the helm, going around Cape Horn, South America, facing huge waves that are so big, they literally blank out the sun, than to be in an ocean-going ship, a luxury liner on a calm lake without any waves, without Him. Today, we need to face our storms, we need to face our troubles. All we need to do is to make very sure that the Lord Jesus Christ is at the helm of our boat. Don’t be afraid of trouble. Embrace trouble, knowing that the Lord said that He will be with us even to the very end of the age.
I really believe that we are so close to the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. So be strong today - Keep your eyes fixed on the Lord and He will take you right through that storm that you are experiencing.
God bless you and goodbye.
