Let Him Love You

It is Wednesday morning, 25th May 2022, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

If we go to the Old Testament, to Isaiah 49, I am reading from verse 15. The Lord says:

"Can a woman forget her nursing child, And not have compassion on the son of her womb?
Surely they may forget, Yet I will not forget you. See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands.”

Wow - Have we ever seen a stronger bond than we see between her mother and her suckling child? Definitely not and Jesus tells us clearly today that His bond with us is even stronger than that! Maybe today, you are feeling lonely. Maybe you are feeling deserted or maybe you feel that nobody cares about you... I want to tell you there is One who cares about you so much. Have you ever seen the loving, doting eyes of a mother holding her newborn baby in her arms? The absolute wonder of it and the love - it's so beautiful to see.

I remember many times, because I have daughters, visiting them in the hospital. When they are holding that little bundle of joy in their arms, they are so proud of their babies. Jesus loves us even more than that - He says, “Look at the nail prints in my hands, that tells you how much I love you - I died for you!” Do you know, that scripture that I just read you was written hundreds of years before Christ was even born?

On the farm, we have some Brahman type cattle. They are highly intelligent. They can be very docile or they can be very aggressive - It depends on how you handle them. When visitors come to the farm we tell them to always have respect for those big bulls that are walking around. Then we tell them to be extremely careful of a cow that has just calved down and has a little baby - Be very careful. She is very dangerous will protect her newly born calf at all costs. My so, his two sons and my grandsons have experienced that when herding cattle on horseback. If you get between a cow and its mother it can cost you dearly.

Jesus feels the same way. In fact, He loves us so much that He died in our place.

“Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends.”

John 15:13

Now today, speak to Him and let Him love you. Have a wonderful day.
Jesus bless you. Goodbye.
