Returning on The Clouds

A very good morning to you! It is Thursday morning, 26th May 2022, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

Today is Ascension Day - That’s right! Today is the day that we remember that our precious Lord Jesus went back to Heaven, to be with His Father... Ascension Day! Let us go straight to the word of God to Acts 1 and I am reading from verse 9:

“Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven?

This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.”

I am a cloud watcher - Every morning I wake up and I look out... When I see the clouds I say, “Lord, are You coming back today?” because He has promised us that He will return on the clouds. What a wonderful day that will be! I am sure you will agree with me, it couldn’t be sooner. It might in fact, even be today for some of us! He will not be riding on the back of a donkey this time as the Savior of the world, no! He will be riding on a white charger, on a warhorse - that is what the Bible tells us. He will be coming on the clouds and on His robe will be written, and on His thigh, “King of Kings and Lord of Lords.” Revelation 19 will tell you that.

He says, “Surely, I am coming back quickly.” He is coming back to set the record straight, that’s right! All the injustice in the world, all the immorality, the corruption... those who stick their tongue out and say, “Where is this God that you are always talking about?” Yes! Everyone will be judged, and every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. And that is why we need to pray. We need to pray, today, even for our enemies because the Bible says it is a terrible thing to fall into the Hands of a Living and Holy God. You and I need to keep short accounts with man and God for the time is now very short. I have written that on the last page of my Bible.

Today, remember, the Lord is not dead. He is alive and coming back for you and me very soon. Have a blessed Ascension Day!
