The Almighty

Very good morning to you - It is Monday morning, 14th of February, the year 2022. And this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

“I am the Lord, and there is no other;
There is no God besides Me.
I will gird you, though you have not known Me,
That they may know from the rising of the sun to its setting
That there is none besides Me.
I am the Lord, and there is no other”

Isaiah 45:5

I think that is very, very clear. Then Mark 8:29

“He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
Peter answered and said to Him, “You are the Christ.”

We need to ask ourselves a question this morning, “Who do we say that the carpenter from Nazareth is? Yes, He is indeed Immanuel, God with us. Remember, Romans 8:31 says:

"If Christ be for us then who can stand against us?"

No one at all. I want to say to you that our Heavenly Father is not to be trifled with, not to be played with. He is not the man upstairs, He is not my mate - He is Almighty God. We cannot turn Him on and off like a light switch. I want to say to you that even this very day, the Orthodox Jews, if they write you a letter, and they do write me letters... When they sign off, when they write God bless you, they write G-d bless you! They will not even write His name because He is such an Almighty God.

When Moses went up onto Mount Sinai to receive the Ten Commandments from the Lord, no human being or even an animal could even touch the base of that mountain for fear of death. I want to say to you, this Mighty Creator of the universe created everything that we see with one word.

In the beginning, was the Word. He came down from Heaven to earth in the form of a little defenceless baby. Why? You know why - Because He wanted to have fellowship with you and me. He even knows how many hairs are on your head, isn’t that amazing?

Bring all your fears to Him today and all your inadequacies at the start of this week. Why, because He is bigger and stronger than your greatest fears!

Have a wonderful day,
God bless you and goodbye.
