In Remembrance

And a very good morning to you. It is Sunday morning, 20th of February, the year 2022. And this is your friend Angus Buchan with a thought for today.

“and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” In the same manner, He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”

1 Corinthians 11:24-25

When Jesus spoke about this act, sadly a lot of His disciples left Him. That’s right. If we look at the word of God in John 6:66, it says:

“From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more.”

He was left with twelve. He had had about a hundred and twenty. This is a very solemn reminder of what Jesus Christ has done for you and me. Do you know that every single day that I am on the farm Jill and I, at the breakfast table, have Holy Communion in the morning?

Remember now, with this wonderful act of God there is no one who is exempt. All who love the Lord Jesus Christ can come to the table, that is the qualification. Jesus did it with his disciples at the last supper. I have been to the Upper Room in Jerusalem, in the Old City. I had a wonderful experience there with God, the presence of the Holy Spirit was almost tangible. Please do it with your family, dads. Do it on your own, if you are not married... There is no specified place, there is no specified time - You can partake of the Holy Communion in a hospital, a jail, university, at work, down the mine or on the farm.

I want to tell you one of the highlights for me is breaking bread with my oldest grandchild and her husband on her wedding day - Oh, so special! And I want to say to you today that when you partake of Holy Communion my dear friend, there is healing that takes place. That's right, physical healing... There is freedom, the forgiveness of sins, liberty and most of all, there is salvation because when we remember what Jesus Christ did for us the devil has got no more hold over us.

Please do not abstain from breaking bread in the presence of Almighty God. He said: “Do it in remembrance of Me, until I come.”

Have a wonderful Sunday, Jesus bless you.
Goodbye.
