A Pencil Parable

And a very good morning to you! It is Monday morning, 7th of March, the year 2022. And this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

“He answered them, “I told you already, and you did not listen. Why do you want to hear it again? Do you also want to become His disciples?”

John 9:27

You know, there are none so blind as those who refuse to see. We believe whatever we read in the media, don’t we... In the newspapers, on our devices, on television. We don’t question it but we always seem to doubt a genuine miracle that is performed by God. Even when the person in question confesses that he has received healing, like this young man who was blind from birth, yet we don't believe.

The Pharisees said, “Were you really blind from birth?" He said, “As my parents.” And of course, they were afraid of the people, peer pressure is a terrible thing, so they said, “Ask him.” He said to them, “No-one has ever opened the eyes of a blind man”, and of course, the blind man, once his eyes were opened, he became a follower of Jesus Christ.

You and I need to stop questioning God and we need to start, simply believing what He has said and what He has done. That is the only way that we can be used by God.

A very dear lady sent me a book which she has just written and in it, there is a pencil parable, it goes like this:

In the beginning, the pencil-maker spoke to the pencil:

“There are five things that you need to know before I send you into the world to become the best that you can become. Number one - you will be able to do many things but only if you allow yourself to be held in someone’s hand.

Number two - you will experience a painful sharpening from time to time but this is required if you are to become a better pencil.

Number three - you have the ability to correct any mistakes you may make.

Number four - the most important part of you will always be what is on the inside.

Number five - no matter what the condition, you must continue to write. You must always have a clear, legible mark no matter how difficult the situation.”

Everyone is like a pencil, created by the Lord Himself for a purpose. A special meaningful purpose, in our heart and a relationship, with God daily. Go out today and believe God and He will use you to perform mighty miracles for Him.

Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day.
Goodbye.
