Praise Him

A very good morning to you - I greet you in Jesus’ precious name.

It is Friday morning, 22nd July 2022, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

If we go to Psalm 47:1-9, it is all about one thing - praising the Lord.

“Oh, clap your hands, all you peoples!
Shout to God with the voice of triumph!
For the Lord Most High is awesome;
He is a great King over all the earth.”

“Sing praises to God, sing praises!
Sing praises to our King, sing praises!
For God is the King of all the earth;
Sing praises with understanding.”

“That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
Philippians 2:10

Wow! Do you feel like that this morning? You say, "No”. Well, you need to do it. Do you know why? Because He is worthy! He is the King of Kings, He is the Lord of Lords, He is the Worthy One. Our Jesus is the Lily of the Valley, the Great Plough-man, the Vinedresser, the High and Lofty One, the Fairest of Ten Thousand, He is the Bright Morning Star! He is also the Defender of the weak, the Friend of the widow and the orphan, and most of all, He is the friend of sinners, just like you and me.

Ian Mackintosh, a very dear friend of mine and former Springbok rugby coach, was the first man to bring the Curry Cup back to Kwazulu-Natal in over 100 years. A few years ago one of his close friends wrote me a beautiful letter and said that he had the privilege of walking onto the field at Kings Park Rugby Stadium with Ian Mackintosh, just before the Curry Cup Final rugby match. The atmosphere was electric. A few years later he came to one of the Mighty Men Conferences with Ian, and they walked in amongst tens of thousands of men, women, boys and girls on Sunday morning. They were praising and worshipping the Living God under the open sky, clapping and shouting, “Amen!” which means, “so be it.” This man said he had never encountered the presence of God in such a miraculous way.

Today, praise Him because He is worthy. Praise Him because He loves you and because He is coming back soon.

Have a wonderful day, God bless you and goodbye.
