The Greatest Miracle

A very good morning to you, I greet you in Jesus’s name! It is Sunday morning, 31st July, 2022, and this is your friend Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

If we go to Acts 11 and I am reading verse 18:

“When they heard these things they became silent; and they glorified God, saying, “Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance to life.”

And then we go to Romans 10:13, one of my favourite verses:

“For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Peter went to Jerusalem and told the disciples that he had been to the house of a gentile, Cornelius. Jews were not permitted to go into the homes of unbelievers and gentiles but the Lord Jesus showed him clearly that what He has made clean, no-one must make otherwise. Whoever literally means anyone... Jew, gentile, old, young, black, white, man or woman! Whoever calls, appeals or cries out to God with a sincere and repentant heart, the Lord Jesus will not turn away, He will not disregard. It does not matter what you have done, it does not matter what you have not done - Jesus still loves us the same.

Well, you might ask, what does He require of us then? Matthew 22:37 says to simply love Him with all your heart, all your soul and with all your mind. You know, to me the greatest of all miracles that I have ever seen in my life, is to see a changed life. I have been very privileged to have seen Jesus heal the sick, that’s right, open blind eyes, deaf ears... I have seen Him change the weather, open barren wombs and give women beautiful children, I have even seen Him raise the dead. But the greatest miracle of all and the one that brings me to tears is the life of a 'Whosoever' that turns and becomes a follower of Jesus Christ. A person that goes back home after a Mighty Men Conference, after a meeting where he has met with the Lord, gets on his knees and asks his wife and his children for forgiveness and tells them: “I have met Jesus and I am a changed man.” That is a miracle indeed!

Today, do not harden your heart. Call unto the Lord and He will save you.
Have a beautiful Sunday,
Goodbye.
