In His Image

A very good morning to you. I greet you in Jesus’ name!
It is Friday morning, the 5th of August 2022, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

“The fool has said in his heart,
“There is no God.”
Psalm 53:1

What a sad statement! Charles Darwin said, “New species arrive naturally by a process of evolution rather than having being created, forever immutable by God.” The word “immutable” means unchanging.

“So God created man in His own image”
Genesis 1:27

Isn’t that amazing? When God created you and me, He created us as individuals, not in batches of hundreds or thousands. After He created you He broke the mould. There is only one of you in the whole world. You are the only one on earth who has individual fingerprints. Isn’t that incredible? Only one of you in the whole world! That is so beautiful. That is why I love Him so much! Jesus knows us by name. Just like in a crowd of children on a playground, a mother will distinctly hear the cry of her little baby, her little child, above all the voices of all the other children on the playground.

Jesus will leave the ninety-nine in order to find the one lost sheep, like you or me. Our good Shepherd is so interested in us today because He has made us to be His very own son or daughter. Jesus says:

“I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.”
Luke 15:7

I want to pray for you today.

Heavenly Father,

I want to thank You for my dear friend, listening to this message right now. Oh Lord, through the power of Your Holy Spirit, show them that they are not alone, that they do not need to be lonely or fearful because You have promised us in Your Word that You will never leave and never forsake us (Hebrews 13:5).

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
