Where Would We Be...

A very good morning to you, I greet you in Jesus’s precious name! It is Tuesday morning, 9th August 2022, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

“And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.”

Genesis 2:18

And then verse 24:

“Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.”

Genesis 2:24

This is God’s order and plan for our lives. As men today, we want to thank our Lord Jesus Christ every single day for our women-folk. Where would we be boys, without them? The man may be the head of the home but the wife is, without question, the heart of the home. When we arrived from Zambia onto this farm 45 years ago, to start farming on a piece of overgrown bush, I built a shed and Jill, my wife, made it into a lovely, warm, cosy and comfortable home.

In the year 2003 when we were having a rest in the Umfolozi Game Reserve in Northern KZN, the Lord Jesus spoke to me, very clearly, in my heart to mentor young men - It has become one of the greatest privileges in my life, the birth of the Mighty Men Conference. I can call it a phenomenon, which has now become a global movement. Unfortunately, we have picked up a lot of criticism from some woman’s liberation groups asking why is it men only. What they fail to understand is that it is designed to teach men to love their wives. Ephesians 5:25.

It teaches young men to protect their wives and provide for them. That simple act of love brings so much security to children, when they see how dad loves their mom. I want to say thank You, Jesus, for giving to us men, wives, moms, grannies, sisters, and daughters. Please help us to love them more every day.
