Faith

A very good morning to you - I greet you in Jesus’ name! It is Tuesday morning, the 20th of September 2022, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

“So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.”
Hebrews 3:19

“But I want to remind you, though you once knew this, that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.”
Jude 5

Unbelief hurts God more than anything else. When He has done so much for us and we still don’t acknowledge Him as Lord of all, it is so sad. We have such short memories, don’t we?

“But although He had done so many signs before them, they did not believe in Him.”
John 12:37

When we doubt the Lord Jesus Christ, we virtually tie His hands and He can’t do anything. This attitude of I will believe it when I see it is not faith, and that does not glorify the name of the Lord. Even the disciples asked the Lord Jesus in Luke 17:5, “Please increase our faith.”

I have seen too many miracles. I have seen the Worker of miracles in action too many times to doubt Him. Like the old farmer Job said in Job 19:25:

“I know that my Redeemer lives.”

Many years ago I was preaching in a big church in Durban and it was a packed-out service. It was beautiful and the Lord was moving powerfully. There were a few thousand people there, but a lady had come as visitor to the church, and she had said to the Lord that morning in her quiet time, “Lord, if You don’t speak to me personally, I am throwing the towel in, I am giving up.” She was sitting in the crowd somewhere and as the service was coming to an end she got up and tried to slip out the back. I saw her and I shouted in front of the whole crowd, “Madam, where are you going? Can you please come up here?” She came up onto the platform. I asked her what her name was. She told me her name and I acknowledged her personally in front of the whole crowd. She went home and wrote me an email a few days later and she said, “I know for sure that Jesus Christ is alive.”

I have seen the big miracles - I have seen the weather changing, but it is those little ones that touch me so deeply. “Lord, speak to me today in the crowd,” and He did. Don’t doubt the promises of God. Don’t tie His hands.

Go out and believe Him and He will do it for you too!
Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day.

Goodbye.
