Famous
I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Saturday morning, it is the 4th of February, 2023, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.
“Moreover God said to Moses, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel: ‘The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations.’
Exodus 3:15
“Your name, O Lord, endures forever, Your fame, O Lord, throughout all generations.”
Psalm 135:13
His name is remembered forever from the very beginning of time. Now I looked up the Oxford Dictionary to find out the literal meaning of the word, “fame”. It means the state of being famous, it means a celebrity, prominence and distinction. A famous person is known only for a season, for example, a famous football star, a rugby star, a tennis star, a film star, maybe a famous politician or a famous artist - but their fame and their impact on the world is very short-lived. When I speak to my grandchildren and mention famous icons from as recently as ten years ago, they tell me, “Never heard of them, Khulu!”.
“Have you never heard of George Best?”
“No Khulu.”
“Have you never heard of Richy McCall?”
But the name that everyone knows, and is more popular and more famous than even when he walked upon the earth - that’s right, Jesus, the Christ!
In Mark 8:29, Jesus asked Peter:
“But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered,, “You are the Christ.”
The most famous person who has ever lived, the most loved and the soon-coming King. Get to know this famous person today because He is waiting to speak with you.
Have a wonderful Saturday,
Jesus bless you and goodbye.
