Friendship With Jesus
I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Tuesday morning, it is the 6th of June, 2023, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.
We start in the Gospel of John 15:15 and Jesus says:
“I have called you friends.”
“Oh that I might know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings being conformed to His death.”
Philippians 3:10
Friendship with Jesus is seen by everyone. If you spend time with the Lord it is Jesus in you that people see and that warms them towards you. I want to read a little story to you from a beautiful devotional. It goes like this: “Years ago there was an old German professor whose beautiful life was a wonder to his students. Some of them were determined to learn the secret of it, so one night they sent someone to hide in the study where the professor spent his evenings. It was quite late when the teacher finally came home. He was very tired but sat down and spent an hour with his Bible. Then he bowed his head in silent prayer and finally closing the book of books, he said, “Well, Lord Jesus, we still have the same old relationship.” You see, to know Christ is life’s greatest achievement. At all costs, every Christian should strive to have the same old relationship with Him. The reality of knowing Jesus comes as a result of hidden prayer and personal Bible study that is devotional and consistent in nature. Christ becomes more real to those who persist in cultivating His presence. Listen to this beautiful little verse: It says:
Speak unto Him for He hears you,
And Spirit with spirit will meet,
Nearer is He than breathing,
Nearer than hands and feet.
Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day today.
Goodbye.
