Doers of the Word

A very good morning to you. I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Tuesday morning, it is the 6th of September 2022, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.  

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.”
Matthew 7:21 

Let's be doers of His word, not just talkers! Jesus uses a very strong parable in Matthew 21:28: 

“But what do you think? A man had two sons, and he came to the first and said, ‘Son, go, work today in my vineyard.’ He answered and said, ‘I will not,’ but afterward he regretted it and went. Then he came to the second and said likewise. And he answered and said, ‘I go, sir,’ but he did not go. Which of the two did the will of his father?” They said to Him, “The first.”

Faith is an action word. James 1:22:

“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” 

Remember, it was the widow’s mite that impacted Jesus’ life. He was sitting in the temple with His disciples and seeing all the rich men coming in and giving a little bit of their excess, but it was the old lady who came in and gave all that she had. (Luke 21:1-4).

I was sent a photo of Oom Chris, 79 years young, and two young men, one on either side, with his tractor, preparing the land for a revival meeting. No, they definitely haven't got their Sunday best on, but they are busy with revival work. We need to roll up our sleeves and get our hands dirty. Time is running out! 

I am often asked, “What is the secret of the Mighty Men phenomenon that is going around the world - this movement that is impacting men's lives?" It's a very simple answer. It's Jesus who is using 'the whosoever’s' to do his bidding.
