Beautiful Blessedness

“Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven,
Whose sin is covered.”
Psalm 32:1

What a beautiful promise from the Lord for us this morning - reconciled to God, brought back to Jesus. When God forgives, remember, He forgets! I always say to people that the Lord has a bad memory... because when He forgives you, He forgets. And when you say, “Lord, remember that sin I committed yesterday, He says, “No, I don’t remember anything.” Not like you and I - we forgive, then when it suits us we say, “Remember that thing you did to me?” Jesus doesn’t do that. That is why it is such a blessed thing to be forgiven by the Lord. And by the way, no one on earth is exempt from this beautiful blessedness.

You don’t have to wait for Heaven, it can start right here on earth today. The second memory verse that I memorized when I first got saved was John 3:16:

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

The second, and this is a beautiful verse is 1 John 1:9:

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Isn’t that beautiful? You see, you can’t earn it. You can’t buy it and you can’t work for it - It is for free... Just receive God’s forgiveness. You can’t even get that blessedness for a long service award - No! The Lord says the last will be first and the first will be last. F.B. Meyer says: “We have not to do, feel or suffer but only to be” and then of course, instantly blessedness starts.

Now, there is someone in the Bible who knew exactly what that meant, and his name was Zacchaeus. Jesus said to Zacchaeus, that short little man who couldn’t see the Lord for the crowd so he climbed up a Sycamore tree (that is a wild fig tree) and Jesus looked up and said, “Zacchaeus I am coming to your house today!” Zacchaeus couldn’t believe it. My dear friend, maybe Jesus wants to come to your house today. I am talking about your very own life. And if we look at Zacchaeus, we look at Luke 19:8:

“Then Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord, I give half of my goods to the poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore fourfold.”

Zacchaeus said, “I will pay back 400% to anyone that I cheated.” Surely blessedness came into that man’s heart that day. Today, go out and remember Jesus died for you. All you have got to do is say, “Thank You, Lord!” Receive it and believe it.

God bless you and goodbye.
