Greater is He
What a beautiful promise from God! Then we go to Luke 8:28 - the story of that man who was demon-possessed:
“When he saw Jesus, he cried out, fell down before Him, and with a loud voice said, “What have I to do with You, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg You, do not torment me!”
You see folks, I think the first person in the New Testament to acknowledge that Jesus Christ was the Son of God was a demon - That’s right. He knew straight away that he had no chance. There was a legion of demons inside that man and when they saw the Son of God coming, they trembled with fear and asked if they could be cast into a herd of pigs on the side of the hill.
I remember reading the life story of Smith Wigglesworth, the master plumber from England who had an incredible relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. He was a man of great faith and God used him to heal many people, even raise the dead!
On a tour, I think he was in South Africa actually, he was sleeping at a farmhouse in the outback somewhere and in the middle of the night he heard a horrible growling noise in the corner of his room. He reached out for a candle and struck a match, he held the candle up to where the horrible noise was coming from and there was the most grotesque demon in the corner of the room. He looked at him and said,” Oh, it’s only you,” and with that, he blew the candle out and turned over and went back to sleep.
I want to say to you today that if Jesus Christ is in you, you have the majority. Romans 8:31 says if Christ is for us, who can possibly stand against us. Today with the spirit of fear that is prevailing all over the world, through this dreaded COVID-19, we need to remember one thing -
Ultimately, our Lord Jesus Christ has the authority and the power to overcome all evil. What you need to do is to recognize that you have that power and you need to speak up against the devil and tell him: ”No, not in this place, not in this home - Not in this life.” And you need to press on because the Lord has given you and me the authority to cast out demons and to take the victory that is for us. When Jesus died on the cross He said: "It is finished!" and He meant it.
Have a wonderful day today and remember if Christ is for you there’s nothing that will stand against you!
God bless you.
