Heart-to-heart

I greet you in Jesus' name. It is the 20th of February 2023, Monday morning and this is your friend Angus Buchan, with the thought for today. Psalm 145:8-9

"The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, slow to anger and great in mercy. The Lord is good to all, And His tender mercies are over all His works."

I wanna ask you a question this morning my dear friend, when was the last time you sat down and had a good heart-to-heart talk with the Lord? You know it's like sitting by a warm fire on a cold, rainy and windy evening, drinking a hot cup of tea or coffee, looking into that fireplace and the flames are dancing around as the wood is crackling - Sitting quietly, listening to beautiful stories of the past told by a kind and gentle old person who has walked the road of life. An honest person who was told stories of success and stories of failure. But most of all examples of how Jesus has been there always - never once deserting or ignoring us.

Love (I want you to put the name Jesus there) suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
1 Corinthians 13:47

These are the qualities of the God that we serve. He doesn't think unkindly there's no envy, is not a show-off - He doesn't have to, does He? No, He is exceptionally well-mannered, not self-centred, doesn't talk about Himself, does not think badly of you or me, but only good. He doesn't talk negatively, no. He's always encouraging, speaks the truth in love, He believes in us. He has hope for our future and has endurance - He never gives up! Surely we are talking about our heavenly Father here 

Come on today, let's go and sit by that fire, let's drink that cup of coffee - it doesn't matter where you are. Have a good heart-to-heart, and have a good cry if you have to. Speak to him because he wants to hear from you, He loves you and most of all, He's got your back.
