Turned for Good

But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive. Now, therefore, do not be afraid; I will provide for you and your little ones.” And he comforted them and spoke kindly to them.
— Genesis 50:20-21

You see Joseph’s brothers were very jealous of him. They sold him into slavery and then God promoted him to be the Prime Minister of the most powerful nation on earth at the time, Egypt. God used that office to save the people of Israel, to save the very people who were trying to kill Joseph. The Bible tells us clearly in Romans:

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”
Romans 8:28

My dear friends, never before in all my Christian walk with Jesus Christ have I ever seen such love and sincere kindness among ordinary folk. You see this insidious thing, the devil and all his demons have tried to do, to cripple our beloved South Africa is failing miserably. He started with COVID-19 and now with this looting and arson... Ordinary folk are banding together to help the police protect their homes, making roadblocks to stop the wickedness of looting of private property. We are seeing the singing of hymns spontaneously in the shops, phone-calls (obviously when the comms are up) to encourage people, from all over the world.
They are saying, “We are praying for you.”

I heard a report of the local baker, who managed to get some flour together, he baked piping hot bread rolls and brought them out to give to the men who were guarding the roads in and out of the towns... Farmers wives exchanging food with one another, vegetables for milk and so on. I have also heard of farmers wives making peanut butter sandwiches, beautiful, for their staff because they had nothing to eat. I heard and saw a lone piper playing the bagpipes to encourage the residents at a roadblock intersection in Umhlanga Rocks, Durban.

My dear friends, Joseph said again, “What was meant for evil, God turned for good.” Let us continue to confound the devil today. Let us love one another unconditionally so that the whole world can see that Jesus Christ is Lord.

God bless you and have a wonderful day.
