Never Give Up

I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Saturday morning, the 8th of April, 2023, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. 

“Simon Peter said to them, “I am going fishing” 
John 21:3

Never, ever, ever give up. You have no idea how close you are to possibly the greatest victory in your whole life. You see, Peter the big fisherman, the leader of the pack was about to give up, wasn’t he? He had walked with Jesus for three years. He had seen miracles, signs and wonders. He saw Jesus raise Lazarus after he had been dead for four days. He saw Jesus walking on top of the water. In fact, Jesus got him to do the same thing! He saw Jesus speak with His Father with Moses and Elijah on the top of the Mount of Transfiguration! But now he has given up. He is going back fishing. He is going back to his former way of life. He is going back to his trade! 

We must never, ever give up the fight. We are closer to victory than we realise. Remember, it is not the strongest, it is not the most talented boxer that wins the heavyweight title fight of the world. No, it is the one who just keeps on getting back up on his feet that eventually wins the title match.  

Remember, tomorrow is coming very soon. Get ready for the greatest day in the history of the world. Sunday morning is coming - the day of the Resurrection is about to start when the Son of God defeated the devil once and for all. Remember, the tomb is empty. I have been there. There is nothing inside that tomb. There are no bones, there is no evidence of death. Why? Because He is not dead. He is alive and He is on your side. 

Today, stand, remember the battle is the Lord’s!
