Resurrection Sunday

I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Sunday morning, it is Resurrection Sunday, the 9th of April, 2023, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

“Now the first day of the week Mary Magdalene went to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb.“ 
John 20:1

No one in the tomb! Then we go straight to John 20:16: 

“Jesus said to her, “Mary!” She turned and said to Him, “Rabboni!” (which is to say, Teacher).”

Jesus is alive! He is not dead, I tell you - He is alive my dear friends! There is no more fear because Jesus is with you and me on this beautiful Resurrection Sunday morning. Death is defeated once and for all.

“O Death, where is your sting?”
1 Corinthians 15:55

It's gone. We serve a living God and He is waiting this morning to speak to you and me, just like He spoke to Mary Magdalene outside the tomb on the day of Resurrection. I want to ask you a question this morning. Are you lonely? He wants to be your friend. Are you sick? He wants to heal you. Are you lost? He wants to direct your paths and show you the way home. Job, that old farmer, in the Book of Job 19:25, says, 

“For I know that my Redeemer lives,…” 

I don’t hope He lives, I don’t think He lives, I know that my Redeemer lives! Why? Because that man went through incredible times of testing and Jesus never forsook him. He was with him all the way.

“My soul, wait silently for God alone, For my expectation is from Him.”
Psalm 62:5

You know, we had a tragedy on our farm many, many years ago, but to me, it was like happened yesterday and I used to struggle to sleep and I would set my alarm clock for 4 am, but by 3 am I was wide awake, waiting for the alarm clock to go off. When the alarm clock went off, I would run up to my farm office where I used to have my quiet times in those days, and every single morning, Jesus was waiting for me. I am telling you the truth. It was like He had baked a fresh loaf of bread for me. I was so hungry. I would open up the Bible and every single morning, He would speak to me through His word and His Spirit. I became stronger and stronger every single day. He wants to do it for you this morning. Please let Him!
