Never Write Anyone Off
I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Tuesday morning, the 14th of February 2023. This is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.
“For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another.”
Titus 3:3
“And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye?”
Matthew 7:3
People who live in glass houses do not throw stones. We have got to have patience with those who are not of the faith. We have got to pray for them. We can’t compromise - no, no, no. We keep the standard, we keep the faith, and no bending of the rules, but don’t throw the baby out with the bath water.
Do you know that some of Jesus’ greatest champions of the faith were absolute reprobates, unprincipled persons, people who say, “anything goes.” Who am I talking about? Well, I am talking about the one the Lord said He is going to build his church upon, the one who is going to lead the church, Peter, the big fisherman. He was a blasphemer, he swore like a trooper. He never kept his word. He denied Jesus no less than three times and yet Jesus called him to head up the church. What about Paul, an accomplice to the murder of an innocent man who was simply telling people about Jesus, his Friend? His main mission in life was to get rid of Christians and yet Jesus used them both as giants of the faith.
You know, Derek Prince was a Bible teacher but he wasn’t always a Christian. He took a Bible with him to the desert in the Second World War to read so that he could prove that it was a lie, and he got saved through the Bible and became an incredible man of God. What about Nicky Cruz? Nicky Cruz was a gang leader in the ghettos of New York City until that skinny preacher by the name of David Wilkerson preached the Gospel to him and he got gloriously saved and has become one of God’s main instruments in evangelism.
Never write off anyone. Pray for those who don’t know Jesus, pray for those who persecute you, and love them. There is a turning point and it will be sooner than you think. I was also one of those reprobates, let me tell you, and yet Jesus Christ saved me. He can do it for you too.
Have a wonderful day,
Goodbye.
