No Favourites

I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Saturday morning, the 22nd of April, 2023, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

”Then Peter opened his mouth and said: “In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality.”
Acts 10:34

In other words, God has got no favourites. 

“God shows personal favouritism to no man…”
Galatians 2:6

I want to say to you today, maybe you are feeling that there is nothing you can do for the Lord, maybe you are feeling a bit washed up, maybe you have made a couple of mistakes in your life and you feel that the Lord has closed the door, He has written you off and He can’t use you, well that is a lie from the pit of hell. God will use anyone who puts up his hand for Jesus. God used Moses. Moses was a murderer. Moses couldn’t speak properly, he stuttered and yet God used him to bring the people of Israel out of captivity. What about Peter, the big fisherman? Three times, not once - three times, he denied that he knew the Lord and yet the Lord still used him to head up the early church. 

When I was a new believer I used to often say to the Lord, “Lord, why don’t You use celebrities, famous people and rich people to preach the Gospel? Much more people would come to Christ that way. Why didn’t you use Pharaoh to be your ambassador? Why didn’t You use Caesar from Rome to tell people about Christ? I heard the Holy Spirit say to me, ‘Because there is no room for Me in their lives. The celebrities are so full of their own plans and provisions, there is no room for Me, Angus, but I will use nobodies.’

You know, one of my favourite scriptures in the Bible is found in 2 Chronicles 16:9a: 

“For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.”

Today, just put your hand up and say, “Lord, I am available,” and I want to tell you, my dear friend, He will use you in the most amazing way.
