Obey The Word

I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Friday morning, the 30th of December, 2022, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

“How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word.”
Psalm 119:9

“I will delight myself in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word.”
Psalm 119:16

People are lost at the moment. People are looking for direction. People are living in a world of compromise where anything goes, even when it comes to the Bible! They pick and choose whatever suits them, whatever suits their lifestyle. It is a very dangerous thing to do. Obedience to the whole Bible brings security and peace into a man’s heart. Jesus Himself quoted the Old Testament continuously. Jesus says: 

“Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfil.”  He goes on to say, “For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle (that is a dot or stroke) will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.”
Matthew 5:17

The world is full of imitation these days. An imitation is a “copy of”. It is not the real thing. It looks the same but it is not, it is a forgery. Who is the master of imitation? Yes, you have got it right, the devil himself. He is a thief and a liar. The Word has been here from the beginning of time.

“In the beginning was the Word…” 
John 1:1

So don’t try to manipulate it. If you do, you will come horribly short. Today, young man and young lady, obey the Word of God and you will have an abundant life.
