Open Our Eyes

I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Friday morning, the 12th of May, 2023, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

“Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”
2 Kings 6:16

Elisha prayed that the Lord would open the eyes of his servant to see all the chariots of fire and all the angels that were on the mountains around them. This servant was petrified because the Syrians had come to attack them, but the prophet asked God to open his servant's eyes so that he could see there are more that are for us than against us.

“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”
Ephesians 3:20-21

Do not limit God. Don’t ever do that. If God is for us today in whatever thing you are looking for, then you have the majority! 

Lord Jesus, please open our eyes, as you did for that servant, so that we can see how many angels are on our side. And if they are, we are victorious!

When you go out to shoot a massive bull buffalo, we need to use a very powerful rifle, not a child’s pop gun, and yet that is exactly what many of us try to do, don’t we? We try to take on the challenges in our own strength and we fail miserably. Today, let's go out and face that challenge with a scud missile, not a child’s pop gun. Jesus has given us everything we need to stand against the enemy. 

I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me.
Philippians 4:13

Lord, please open our eyes today so that we can see that those who are for us are more than those who are against us. Let us see that mountain Lord, full of chariots of fire, horses and angels which have been sent by God to give us the strength we need to fulfil the task that is ahead.
