Renewed

I greet you in Jesus' precious name. It is Sunday morning the 25th of June 2023 and this is your friend Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. Philippians 3:20-21:

"For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself."

And then another paraphrased version says:

"We are awaiting the arrival of the Savior, the Master, Jesus Christ who will transform our earthly bodies into glorious bodies like His own. He'll make us beautiful and whole with the same powerful skill by which he is putting everything, as it should be, under and around him."

Then the last translation Philippians 3:21:

"Who will transform our humble bodies and transfigure us into the identical likeness of His glorified body and using His matchless power, He continually subdues everything to Himself"

Wow - what a day when the Lord comes to take us home to be with Him! Maybe today you've woken up and you are sore... Maybe you've had an operation, maybe there's something that you just cannot get rid of or you've got cancer. Maybe you have had a nervous breakdown or you have become paralyzed in an accident - I want to tell you that God, through the Lord Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit, when He comes is going to give you a brand-new body!

You know I've got two Heroes in my life, one is Joni Eareckson Tada, who as a young girl dived off a little rowing boat into a lake and hit her head on a rock - She broke her neck and has been paralyzed for most of her life. When I hear her talking about how she cannot wait for the day when she meets the Savior of the world... But you know she's talking about simple little things, that you and I take for granted, like being able to peel potatoes, being able to put some lipstick on her lips or able to comb her hair, being able to go for a walk... I think of Nik Vujičić who was born with no legs and no arms - What a man! He came to visit me on my farm many, many years ago. They put him on the table so that his eyes could be level with mine, sitting in a chair, but what a man - That man is so positive. He's looking forward to when his body will be totally and completely renewed.

I want to say to you today, if you're not feeling well, if you're struggling with an ailment, look up because your redemption draws near. Look up because Jesus is coming back very soon. He's going to renew us and give us glorious bodies like his own. What a future to look forward to!

Have a wonderful Sunday as you contemplate on the soon-coming King who will restore all things, Jesus bless you and goodbye.
