He Will Go With Us
It is Wednesday morning, the 22nd of June 2022, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.
“My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest. Then he said to Him, “If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here.”
Exodus 33:14-15
If God doesn’t go with us, we don’t want to go. The Lord has promised us today that He will go with us. God never gives us something that we cannot handle, that is great news for us. This does not mean that there will be no hardships along the way, just look at Moses when he took the Children of Israel into the Promised Land.
When I was a little boy, if my dad, a big blacksmith, went with me, I would go anywhere. I was fearless. I was afraid of nothing because my dad was standing right next to me. Jesus says in Hebrews 13:5 that He will never leave or forsake us - Do we believe that? If we do, we have nothing to fear. It is fear that makes people sick, but the confidence that the Lord will go with us neutralises all fear.
Remember the story of David and Goliath? You can imagine that nine-foot-tall undefeated giant, with his scarface and huge spear, that somebody else had to carry because it was so heavy. When Goliath looked at that little boy and saw the confidence that David had in God, he knew that he was a done foe.
“He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”
1 John 4:4
The Holy Spirit within us is greater than the devil in the world. We have nothing to fear but fear itself. Today, let's be like Moses and say, “Lord, if you are not going with us, we are not going.”
“My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
Exodus 33:14
Have a wonderful day!
Jesus bless you,
Goodbye.
