No Turning Back

A very good morning to you - I greet you in Jesus’s name! It is Monday morning, 4th of July 2022, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

If we go to the Old Testament to Esther 4:14:

“Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

Then straight across to the New Testament to the Gospel of John 15:16:

“You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.”

Jesus chose you and me, we did not choose Him. That is great news, isn’t it? It takes the heat off. Moses couldn’t speak properly, remember? He had a terrible stutter and was hiding. He was actually a murderer. He said to God, “I can’t” and God said to him, “You can.” Queen Esther said to the Lord, “I can’t.” The Lord said to her, “You can.” When Jesus calls us, he also equips us and He never reconsiders. It is a done deal, that is good news isn’t it?

If we have made a mistake or dropped the ball, say sorry to the Lord, stand up, dust yourself off and get straight back into the race. Get back into the fight. Remember, Jesus appointed us therefore we are qualified to do the job. A young Jewish maiden, she saved a nation from annihilation. A so-called failure hiding in the desert took the Jews out of slavery... What has God called us to do today? Come on young man, finish that degree at varsity. Come on sir, get that business of yours going again. That young girl who is training for the gold medal, keep training, you will get it.

You know, God called me to have a prayer meeting. He said, “I want one million people and I want you to call it, It's Time. He didn’t tell me verbally but He told me in my heart. I said, “Lord, I can’t”. He said, “You can” and it happened. Do you remember that beautiful old song? It goes something like this:

I have decided to follow Jesus;

I have decided to follow Jesus;

I have decided to follow Jesus;

No turning back, praise the Lord, no turning back.

The cross before me and the world behind me,

The cross before me and the world behind me,

The cross before me and the world behind me,

No turning back, praise the Lord, no turning back.

Have a wonderful Monday,

Jesus bless you and goodbye.
